Hello and welcome to my little corner of the internet!

First, a little bit about me.

My name is Alison, and I have always loved cooking and photography, but never pursued either full-time; they are simply hobbies. When I was a teenager, baking became a full-blown obsession and this interest in the creative process has never really diminished over time. Although initially more interested in desserts, now with a family to cook for, my focus tends to be more on creating quick meals and healthy snacks.

This space [redhotcentre] was originally created as an online travel journal, but quickly progressed to a cooking blog, and when my son was born in early 2013, it became an important creative outlet, and something I could do ‘for myself’ whilst parenting from home full-time.

You will find that much of my baking is gluten-free. This is not because I need to cook gluten-free; it is more because the friends that I share my baking with need allergy-friendly treats. I tend to get bored easily, and enjoy the challenge of creating dishes with new and different ingredients! As a result, you will find recipes to suit a range of diets on this site.

It gives me great pleasure to write and share stories and recipes here, and it is my hope that you and others will enjoy them too.

If you have any questions, comments, or simply want to say ‘hi’, feel free to use the contact form on the Home page, or simply email me at: ali@redhotcentre.com.au

Bon appetit!
